Happy 5th birthday my little mermaid.

I could tell this story a million and one times and it never gets old. When you were born I closed my eyes I was so scared to see you I knew once I open my eyes my life would change forever. A million and one thoughts were going through my head hearing you cry.. my eyes were still closed they placed you on my chest and my first thought was “wow she’s real.. and she’s hard! baby bones.” I open my eyes and there you were my sweet beautiful perfect amazing tiny, tiny baby girl.
 I can’t even type this without crying. I can barely see the screen anymore. All I could think then was “wow she’s mine.” That was 5 years ago and I still think to myself every day “wow shes mine.”

Ivy today you are 5 years young & you are the most beautiful 5 I have ever seen. Every single day you teach me more than I knew the day before. Rather you are showing me all the details on the stick figures you drew, telling me about your day, or picking out your own outfit you’re so smart. I can’t thank god enough for blessing me with such a special little girl. I have been crying a lot up to this day and I’ll cry a lot after. Not because I’m sad but because you’re growing up fast. So kind, so strong, so wonderful, so independent, so sassy, so much more than I could ever imagine. You make me so happy and it’s an honor to call you my Ivy Rose.
