Hi, guys! Halloween is just around the corner, and there’s something magical about crafting your own costumes, especially for kids. This year, I embarked on a little creative adventure with my daughters, aiming to make their Halloween unforgettable. After brainstorming various ideas, we settled on something iconic and universally recognized: the Target costume. If you guys have been following my blog for a while, you know my cousin created this costume as a guest poster on my blog for Halloween a few years ago, read it here. With enthusiasm, fabric, and a touch of imagination, we dove into the world of DIY costumes, and the results were nothing short of freaking awesome.
Create your own Target costume.
Here’s a list of items you will need to create a DIY Kids Target Employee Costume:
- Red Shirt: A long-sleeved or short-sleeved red shirt serves as the base of the costume. Find here.
- Khaki Pants: Coordinating khaki pants to match the red shirt. Find here.
- Name Tags: What Target employee costume is complete without the name tag, right? Find here.
- Optional accessories: I’ve seen a lot of people do these costumes, and some have used accessories such as walkie-talkies, hats, watches, just something to tie it all in and make it theirs. I opted out of accessories just because I didn’t want the girls fidgeting with them during our photos.
Put it all together:
It was very quick and very easy; I helped get the girls dressed. Then we added their name tag to their shirts. I purchased these name tags from Target (link above) and cut them into an oval shape. I then just mimicked the design of the regular Target logo and added my kids’ names. I used a black marker and a red color pencil.
Congrats you’re hired!
Congratulations, you are an official unofficial Target employee! I remember my days at Target like it was yesterday, and not only did I love working there, but I also still love shopping there too. With these simple steps and a few key items, you’ve successfully created a DIY Target employee costume. We had so much fun w this even if we did have to bribe Riley with M&Ms and Aria lost her name tag at the end. Whether it’s for Halloween or a themed event, this costume is sure to impress with its authenticity and attention to detail. Happy Halloween guys!
