Hi friends! Guess who and guess what? Well if the title didn’t give it away Ivy is the who and her singing recital is the what! Yep! Our girl had her very first recital last weekend and it ‘Twas one to remember!
One day after singing lessons I got an email from Ivy’s school saying they were having a summer recital. When I first asked Ivy if she wanted to participate she was less than enthusiastic. While she loves singing, singing in-front of a audience full of strangers was not exactly enticing. Though later she finally agreed to go for it! For about a month in a half Ivy rehearsed her heart out learning the words to the beloved Princes And The Frog song “Almost There”. Before you know it the big day was here and it was now or never.
My mom, dad, brother and Dayjhan’s mom all we’re in attendance. Though we had a limited amount of tickets Aria and Riley we’re there to support their sister as well despite Riley feeling under the weather. The show was located downtown at Geery Theater and very small and intimate. Only 50 seats in the theater and probably 40ish of them filled. All the kids sounded great. Singing and playing the piano. They saved the best for last though because Ivy was the last one to hit the stage. She was so nervous and she had a hard time looking up. She forgot her words if only for a micro second. But she kept going, she sang, and she finished with a high note and a curtsey. The entire family was beaming! We couldn’t of been more proud of our girl. After the recital the kids received trophies and Ivy even received flowers. Once the recital was over we headed to breakfast at our favorite spot The Morning Fork and we even checked out a local book store.
For the rest of the day Ivy was on cloud 10! She didn’t even want to take her dress of when we got home.
Ivy you’ll remember this day forever and I hope you’re as proud of yourself as we are of you! We love kiddo!
