Hi guys! Easter is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to start thinking about creating Easter baskets. The littles love to celebrate Easter just as much as anyone else, and a fun Easter basket filled with age-appropriate goodies is sure to put a smile on their faces. In this blog post, I’ll share some tips for creating the perfect basket. Plus what’s in ours! From selecting age-appropriate items to personalizing the basket, I’ve got you covered. So, let’s get started.
Mini Tweens + Toddlers.
Each year I have a theme for my girls. This year my theme for my bigger girls? Mini tweens. Oh and for my little baby? Simply toddlers. Ivy and Ari and 7 and 8 now. So it’s safe to say they’re not quite tweens. Hence the term mini tweens. Basically a tween jr if you will. Riley just turned 1 and is still figuring out toddler life. So her basket is just simply all things toddler.
My Top Tips.
- Choose a theme: Consider choosing a theme for your Easter basket that will appeal to mini tweens and/or toddlers. You could go for a traditional Easter theme with bunnies and eggs, or choose a more specific theme such as Disney or superheroes. Having a theme is the very first thing you want to do before anything. A theme will not only save you time but money.
- Select age-appropriate items: When selecting items for your Easter basket, make sure they are age-appropriate. For example, you could include fun jewelry for your tween, or a small books for your toddler.
- Add some sweet treats: No Easter basket is complete without some sweet treats! Consider adding some age-appropriate treats such a chocolate bunny or jelly beans for your mini tween. Or puffs and baby food pouch for your toddler.
- Personalize the basket: To make your Easter basket extra special, consider personalizing it with the child’s name or adding a special touch such as a handmade name tag or even a cool straw like I added to for the girls.
- Think beyond the basket: Don’t feel limited to using a traditional basket. You could also use a cute rain boots or even a cardboard box decorated with Easter-themed stickers.
- Don’t forget the eggs: Easter eggs are a classic addition to any Easter basket. Fill plastic eggs with small toys, stickers, or candy for an added surprise. For toddlers I like to add larger items like Goldfish.
- Consider safety: Make sure all items in the Easter basket are safe for mini tweens and toddlers. Avoid small parts that could be a choking hazard, and make sure any candy or treats are free from allergens.
