My mom is 26 and fine! Okay 62 but would you ever even know if it weren’t for the balloons? Haha no way right? My moms birthday was two weeks ago and with a lot of wishing, and hoping, and praying we pulled off a surprise party for her!
A few months prior to my mom‘s birthday. I hit up my sisters and told them that I think we should throw mom a Disco themed surprise. Initially it was supposed to just be a surprise dinner however a dinner, a party whatever you wanna call it it was a blast! The days leading up to my mom’s surprise was so hectic. Only myself, my brother and both of my sisters knew. Our dad was in on it too. But we kept all of the kids out of the loop. Because none of them can hold water. We were not taking the chance of having them spill the beans. It was also super hectic because Aria’s birthday was the day before so having to pull off to parties within a 48 hour time span. Well I don’t need to explain that to you you get the picture.
Talking over text messages, whispering through the phone and trying not to get busted my sisters headed to my house to start cooking. The dinner menu included two cakes though not on purpose. My sister end up getting one and I end up getting one but it worked out because there was a lot of us and we love cake. Of course my cake came from Meg’s Bake Shop. You guys know I love Meg and her cakes! The menu also included grilled and fried fish, crab legs, shrimp, fried rice, and house salad. We also had water and soda on the side. The decor was done by We So Extravagant Events per usual because best balloons ever! And candy apples from my mom’s favorite the wonderful Sweet Flour Bakery!
Everything was set up and ready to go. Now all we needed was the birthday girl. The days leading up to the party. I explain to my mom that we would be doing an interview with a company for my blog. It was one of the only ways I knew how to get her out of the house and all dressed up. She didn’t question it for a second and she came ready for an interview. Little did she know she was walking right into her surprise.
SURPRISE!! that’s exactly what we yelled when she walked in. She was so shocked, shy and giddy. But once she seen all the family was there, and it was all for her, she was really excited. We lit the fireplace. Enjoyed the food, cake and enjoy each other’s company as a family. My mom said it was a great day and I’m glad we were able to pull it off for her.
To the best mom God has ever created. I love you. I hope you had the best birthday and many more to come!
