Hi guys! This month I’ve read a bunch of books 3 maybe 4 to be exact. But nothing compares to the book named Verity by Colleen Hoover. Not only was this my first book by Colleen Hoover it was actually the first time I’ve finished a book in 2 days. So let’s jump into the review.
If you’re new here my reviews are short and sweet and I try to make it fun by keeping them all under one paragraph! This will be hard but let’s go! Also per usual don’t read if you don’t like spoilers!
Verity The Review
The book Verity starts off with a character dying literally in the first line. I LOVED IT! not only was it attention grabbing but jaw dropping. The book goes on to introduce Lowen a struggling author who’s mother just passed. Jeremy an ex real estate salesman’s who is taking care of his wife Verity. Verity a famous author is left in a vegetated state after being in a bad car accident. Verity can’t finish writing her book series so that is when Lowen moves into the couples house to complete the job. Lowen finds an old manuscript written by Verity LONG STORY SHORT Verity is a crazy ass psychopath. One that hated her children because she was obsessed with her husband and felt as if her children took all his love away. Verity has twins one dyes from a peanut allergy accidentally, the other drowns on purpose when Verity tips over their boat in the lake. She spares the son. Anyway Lowen reads it all in the manuscript, then she catches Verity faking her condition in between all this she has sex with Jeremy. Jeremy kills Verity, Lowen gets pregnant, they live happily ever after. Sike! Lowen finds a letter form Verity after her death claiming that the manuscript was fake and that’s just what she does as an author blah blah blah. Lowen vows but the letter will never see the light of day and eats it and then they live happily ever after. Ha ha I cannot make this up. This book was nothing short of wild. I will I’m at halfway through the book I swear I would never read another book by Colleen just because I wasn’t feeling the aspect of a mother killing her own children. I felt that was a little too dark for me, however after I finish the book I am very interested in reading more from her and I would definitely recommend this book if you like twist and turns! I gave this book 7 out of 10 stars again just because I wasn’t feeling the killing of the children but other than that she’s a great writer!
