Hi guys! What are you reading this week? Tomorrow I am planning on starting a new book. But today my book review one One Italian Summer by Rebecca Sterle.
One Italian Summer (the review).
So as you guys know a few months ago I did a book review on In Five Years (read it here). I was not a fan! Typically when I’m not a fan of the first book I read by an author I don’t go back and read another. But I’ve heard so much about this book I decided to give it a chance I am so glad I did. Here’s my review..
This book follows Katy Sliver a young married woman living a pretty structured life in LA. Until Katy’s mom Carol passes away from Cancer. Forced to now live a life without her mom Katy struggles to figure out what’s next. What’s next with her marriage? Her job? Her life. Katy decides to take a trip to Italy. One her and Carol planned before she passed. Katy gets to Italy and all is fine until she suddenly runs into Carol! Yes her own mother in the flesh but 30 years younger. Katy then finds herself getting to know this younger version of her mother and also getting involved with a man named Adam who is also staying at the hotel. Katy and Adams fling which I didn’t care for heats up. I just wasn’t into the whole cheating on her husband thing I also didn’t think Adam was necessary but that’s okay SPOILER they don’t end up together. Anywho later Katy learns that she is actually in the year 1992 and she is a baby and her mom has left her for this life in Italy. I wont spoil the ending. But I will say it’s absolutely amazing! I cried! I giggled! Cried again! This book strangely was just what I needed for my own life and I had no idea. I would 100% recommended this book for anyone going through any uncertainties in their life. This book is the best I’ve read all 2022. 10 stars and 10 thumbs up!
