Hi guys!
I don’t know about you, but two things I never hear in the same sentence is family day and winery. When I think of a family day I imagine somewhere super kid friendly, lots of space, games, and food. Well the funny thing is Rombauer Vineyards had it all!
Rombauer Vineyards.
Rombauer Vineyards was founded in 1980 and is a family owned winery with two locations located in Plymouth and St Helena California. They’re known for high quality wines and family style graciousness. Rombauer Vineyards are a big staples in their communities. With many different varieties of wine like their beloved Chardonnay or Merlot. The wine lover in you will be sure to find a taste that brings joy. Because at the end of the day that’s what Rombauer Vineyards is all about. Bringing people together to experience joy. Joy is exactly what my family and I got to experience when we took a visit down.
Our family day at Rombauer.
We left for our family day super excited for what was ahead. It took us a little under an hour to get to the Sierra Foothills location. The ride was absolutely beautiful lots of farm land scenery a little bumpy but the kids enjoyed the “roller coaster”.
When we arrived we were greeted by the employees and showed to a reserved table. “A table with our name”! Our daughters were so excited to see it. We sat at the corner table with lots of shade which couldn’t of been more perfect because it was such a hot day.
Once we got situated the girls were so thrilled to see there were games. Life sized Jenga and Connect 4! A wonderful group having a lunch meeting even helped the girls move the games out of the sun and into the shade. We would later learn they were actually members of the Rombauer team including president Bob Knebel who introduced himself to our family. Which was very personable and kind of him.
While the girls played Dayjhan and I had the pleasure of doing some tastings. While I’m no wine expert at all. Dayjhan knows a thing or two and he was loving trying all the variations of wine. 2021 Rombauer Sauvignon Blanc, 2021 Carneros Chardonnay, 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon + Merlot and 2019 Rombauer Zinfandel was on the tasting menu. We also were able to try food from Amador Mobile Kitchen. The mobile kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays. The food was fresh and crispy even Riley was trying to get in on the action and she has no teeth.
After eating we explored the inside reading up on the history of the wines, looking at different types of cheeses and souvenirs. Cooling down in doors was a lovely way to end our family day.
Take your family to Rombauer!
I realized that no matter where you are with your family you can make it a family day. Yes! Even at a winery! We had so much fun and this was a brand new experience for us that we won’t forget. A huge thank you Rombauer Vineyards for hosting our visit and your amazing wine!
