Hi friends!
How’s it hanging? Well myself, I just finished the book In Five Years by Rebecca Serle. This was the first ever book by Rebecca that I have read so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But from the book previews and the cover it seemed like a great book. Let’s jump right into the review shall we? Also if you’re new here my book reviews are just one straight to the point paragraph and I do always have SPOILERS. Just a heads up.
In Five Years (the review).
In Five Years is a book that follows a woman named Dannie. Dannie is not only obsessed with everything in her life being on track. She even created a five year plan for exactly where she wanted to be well in five years. Dannie gets engaged to long time boyfriend and they have quite a bit of wine. She doses off and has wildly realistic dream in where she envisions herself in an apartment sleeping with a man who is not her fiancé. This dream takes place exactly five years into her future. Creeped out by the dream or déjà vu as I call it. Dannie decides to ignore it and moves on. Later Dannie’s best friend Bella gets engaged as well and oddly enough it’s to the same man Dannie saw in her dream. As Bella began a to plan her wedding she finds out she is dying from cancer and only has little time to live. Bella unfortunately passes away and what does Dannie do? She sleeps with her dead best friends fiancé. Oh man what a book right? The ending has me all sorts of pissed off and confused. Maybe there’s a deeper meaning to this book. But if there is I didn’t get it. The book is very sad and I wouldn’t recommend it to you unless you want to be sad too. That’s my honest review.
