Hola! como esta amigos/amigas? If you didn’t know today is the 5th of May, which also means it is Cinco de Mayo. Now Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day. No, no, no Cinco de Mayo is the day in which commemoration takes place for Mexico’s win at the battle of Puebla. Not many people know but that’s alright because it’s okay to educate yourself on things you don’t know. It’s also okay to celebrate and have a little fun with some yummy treats like Cinco de Mayo cookie tacos!
Taco bout a cookie!
These adorable treats are almost to cute to eat! Um excuse me I said almost okay. Today not only are we eating them but we’re making them and I will show you how step by step. They’re a sweet way to celebrate and really fun to make so grab your sweet tooth because these are a list of ingredients you’ll need below.
Cinco De Mayo cookie tacos ingredients.
-Vanilla icing (in small tube).
-Green food coloring.
-Orange, green and yellow sprinkles.
How to make the taco.
Step 1. Take your Oreos and scrape off the cream on both sides. Then saw your cookie into halves. I used a butter knife.
Step 2. WARNING! Don’t be like me! Flip your Oreo The opposite way so that the Oreo brand name is not showing. Not a big deal but it definitely would’ve been cuter right? Anywho take your cookie and add a dollop of chocolate icing in the middle.
Step 3. Stick your red M&Ms inside of the frosting. You can add one or two it’s up to your preference.
Step 4. Add on your sprinkles. I just took a jar of regular sprinkles and picked out the specific colors.
Step 5. Grab your coconut flakes and add a few drops of green food coloring. Once that’s done sprinkle them on your taco. That’s your lettuce of course.
Step 6. Lastly take your white icing and just add a small line for your sour cream and you’re done.
One of the best parts about this treat is you don’t have to freeze anything or wait for anything to dry it’s simple straightforward and everyone will love it. My kids tore them up! Happy Cinco de Mayo friends enjoy the treats!
