Hi friends + family!
6 years old. Do you remember being 6? I have some fun core memories here and there. But I don’t really remember much about being 6. But I know I will always remember my sweet girl turning 6. Back in January Aria officially turned 6 years old. I know what you’re thinking it’s March. Well yes but I also had a baby 9 days before her birthday. That same little baby I am rocking in her rocking chair as I write this from my phone. So yes life has been very hectic, and very busy. But I was determined to get this blog out one way or another. Though it may be late it’s still worth the write and it’s still worth the read. My fellow readers we have a 6 year old..
Aria what do you want for your birthday?
I remember asking Aria what she wanted for her birthday. What she wanted to do, what she wanted to wear, what she wanted to eat. All the things of a birthday star. Well To my surprise she did not want anything crazy. Aria has never been the type of kid to want anything crazy lavish. But she also has never been the type of kid to be timid on her birthday. I remember when she turned five she wanted a unicorn themed get together. She requested all things unicorn. A custom sweater and even a unicorn ice cream cake. But this year was much simpler. She told me all she wanted was to take a trip to the store Five Below. If you frequent me on Instagram you would know that is her favorite store ever! So I agreed. But of course I was going to do a little bit extra for her.
Aria is 6.
January 7 rolled around on a rainy Friday. The night before we had prepared everything for Aria so when she woke up it was just birthday time. Dayjhan and I decorated the entire dining area with all things Sonic. She is crazy into that little hedgehog right now so it was the perfect theme. From the balloons to the cake to the colored theme matching paper Sonic was in full affect. We had even had A local sign company come out and spell out happy 6th birthday Aria outside in those huge lawn sign letters. Which was actually only supposed to stay up for the day and ended up staying up for three days. Company mix up Aria didn’t seem to mind though.
Aria woke up for school and put on her “I am 6” birthday shirt. She was so excited to get downstairs because decorating the night before is nothing new in this family. She screamed when she seen all of her decorations and all of her gifts. She was so happy. She was even super excited when she ran outside and seen her name on the lawn. Can’t forget the sweet treat cupcakes from my god mom Nicki. They were so pretty, she loved them. I dropped her off at school with custom goodie bags that her and I had made together the night before. Inside the bags were a small fruit snack and a pop it keychain. Another one of her favorite things.. pop it’s. When the school day was over I picked her up and she was so energetic and talkative. She said everyone had sang happy birthday to her and loved the goodie bags. She even got a special birthday star hat.
Party! Party!
Five Below time so Aria could choose 6 special gifts for her birthday. And some extras considering the fact that my best friends Megan and Maria had sent her sweet Five Below gift cards. She chose a bunch of random toys and a few sugary treats she even let Ivy choose a toy on her dime, which was sweet of her. She then requested Chipotle her favorite food as a birthday dinner. After we headed home. Once we got home we ate our dinner, lit the fireplace and had a small party. We FaceTime a few of our family members. Then we also had a few of my nieces stop by. Since we just had Riley we wanted to keep things small and intimate. We all sang happy birthday to Aria and had the most delicious cake from our favorite local baker Megan’s Bake Shop. With ice cream on the side, wrapping paper all over the floor and a brand new 6 year old in Aria I’d say it was a great way to end a cool birthday.
7 Here We Come!
Now that my sweet girl is 6 year old, has a total of 4 missing teeth and I swear she’s grown inch’s overnight she is a big kid now.. well in her eyes. In my eyes she is my middle baby and next year she will be 7. As Riley lays here and coos I see so much of Aria in her. I can’t believe Aria was once this tiny. The sweetest big sister, the kindest little heart, the most baby loving animal kid on the planet. Aria Skye we all love you so much! I hope you loved your birthday!
