Hi friends! Question have you ever been to Disneyland durning Halloween time? My family and I have never. The kids and I are huge on Halloween so it had always been a dream of ours to go. But last year our dream got canceled due to covid19.
Disney for Halloween?
This year of course with things being a little bit more under control with covid19 I gotta crazy idea. One day mid September I was sitting on the couch looking at all the fun Disney Halloween content online. I realized Dayjhan had the days off, the girls had a week off for fall break and Disney durning Halloween didn’t seem to far fetched. So online I went I remember the girls had flight credits due to a trip they didn’t get to take durning covid19. So that means I would only need tickets for Dayjhan and I. The park tickets are discounted for Disney when you go on a Tuesday. Then our hotel stay was sponsored by our favorite hotel ever in the city Howard Johnson Anaheim (check them out here). It was meant to be and before we knew it, it was time to go!
Disney here come the Carrs!
This trip was going to be a quick one. Our last trip in June (read about it here) was three days long and at the time I was only nine weeks pregnant and I was feeling pretty sick. My morning sickness was at the peak and it wasn’t the most enjoyable Disney trip for me I will say that. This trip I was right at my 26 weeks and I was feeling great but just to throw caution to the wind we decided on a one day trip. We arrived in Anaheim on Monday night after a smooth flight. Ivy and I had Canes for dinner something we don’t have here in Sacramento. While Dayjhan and Aria had Chipotle. We all ended the night early after watching the Giants and decided to get some sleep for the next day.
Disney day is here!
The morning of our Disney day came and everyone was so excited. I got up early to jump in the que for the Star Wars ride for Dayjhan and Ivy. Then once we all got up and showered it was off to the park. At the park we met up with our best friends Karen and her family. If you follow my social media you are familiar with Karen and I have mentioned her a few times on my blog before. I love her she’s the best! Our families met up in all of their matching Halloween gear. Which by the way they did not know we planned it was such a fun surprise.
We all had breakfast at Carnation Café which was our first time and it was pretty yummy. While I did enjoy the café it was a little bit limited so I would probably not recommend breakfast there but the kids loved it. After breakfast we did a little shopping on Main Street and then we headed off to the Star Wars ride. Unfortunately once we got the Star Wars ride it turns out that the ride had broken down. But no worries there was still a ton of stuff to do. Between Pinocchio‘s Daring Journey, Dumbo and The carousel we had a lot of fun. I will admit I did not get on many rides for the obvious reason but I did not mind the nice breaks where I got to sit down and take photos and videos of everyone riding. Our husbands and Ivy decided to venture off to the Matterhorn while the rest of us headed to the small world wall to eat popcorn and take photos. Later on after dole whip and a lengthy Jungle Cruise line it was time to say goodbye to our friends. Some hugs and some crocodile tears later we were off on our separate ways.
After our friends left my family and I went to go have lunch at Zocalo. Our first time at the restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing 10 out of 10 I would recommend it. The prices were not too bad either. We then headed to Ivy‘s favorite ride the haunted mansion right after Tom Sawyer Island. This trip was full of first because that’s something we had never did before either.
Our day was finally coming to an end and we decided to hang out on main street to catch the Halloween screams with projection show on the castle. The two hour wait was definitely worth it.
Until spring.. maybe summer?
The next day we flew back home with all of our Disney goodies and pumpkins in our heart. Thank you Disneyland for another special trip! The next one will be even more special because will have another little member of the family with us 🙂
