WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!
You read that right! I can’t even believe I am finally typing this. I am so excited to share this with you guys it has been our little secret for a while now.
Is this happening?
Last Monday one week ago today we closed on our very first home. Earlier this year we started our home buying journey with the best loan officer in the city! If you guys are in need of a loan officer in the area send me a DM or email I have a great recommendation. When we contacted him he got started on our file right away. Once we were approved to buy a home we immediately started looking. We had the best agent too! If you’re looking for an agent as well again please DM or email me! She took the time to answer all of our questions, send us listings daily and basically hold our hand every step of the way.
The struggle of buying a home.
These days people aren’t kidding! When they say this market is competitive OMG! There were days we put in bids on homes for thousands over asking pricing! One home in particular we actually offered over 40k in asking price and still got outbid. There were days I would tell Dayjhan “I quit”. I was so frustrating being outbid and overlooked. There’s so many things people tell you about buying a home. Unfortunately no one ever told us how emotional it would be. One night we got word we were outbid on a home that we absolutely loved so much. I remember feeling so defeated. I texted one of my best friends Megan and I told her the emotional strain looking for a home was taking on me. Megan talked me down from my emotional cliff because I was totally ready to jump. Don’t get me wrong not literally on a cliff ready to jump. But figuratively I was a mess. Home after home after home we were outbid until the day came. My husband found us a home and I thought it was to good to be true. But it turns out that it was waiting for us all along. A million pieces of paper work later and a lot of stress and we got our home!
Home sweet home.
Our home isn’t perfect but it’s perfect for us and we are so proud of it. Our home is a 4 bed room, 2.50 bath, 2 story beauty. Right now she needs a little TCL so we have been doing some work on her. Painting with the help of our family and currently getting ready to get our floors done are at the top of our list. I like to call her a beautiful fixer upper, a work in progress if you will and she is coming together more everyday. One of the things I wanted the most when we were home hunting was a fireplace. I love lighting a fire in the winters and being cuddling up with a movie. Some of the homes we looked at especially new builds had no fire place. I am so grateful we found one that does. Another thing I love about the home is our skylight. It brings in the sunshine and is just a sweet little edition I never knew I wanted. Home sweet home seriously.
Coming soon.
As we continue to fix things up and move things in, decorate and etc I will share more. I have so many fun projects in mind and decor ideas I am so excited for this new chapter. At last… the Carr’s are homeowners!
