Hi Friends! Do you know what day it is? Today is officially the anniversary of Disney’s Riviera Resort! If some of you guys remember earlier this year my family and I got to attend the Disney Creators Celebration and we stayed at the resort for a few days. Well, today in celebration of the anniversary I am bringing you some fun never before seen photos, some oldies but goodies, all about our stay at the resort and everything in between!
Disney’s Riviera Resort.
Disney’s Riviera Resort is located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Located between Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios the resort opened up one year ago today December 16, 2019. The deluxe resort is the 15th Disney vacation club to be built and the first of it’s kind with a Disney Skyliner gondola system. The skyliner travels to Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and of course back to the resort. You could even catch a ride via one of the many buses that come to do frequent pick-ups in front of the resort as well. There is also a nightly cost for parking or valet options.
The resort’s European Riviera theme was inspired by Walt Disney’s trips he would take to Europe. Walking around, you can also find some of Walt’s photos from those visits as the decor of the resort. With 300 family rooms offered there is a spot for everyone. The rooms range from 1, 2, and 3 bedroom villas to tower rooms and even deluxe studios. With many room amenities including flat-panel TVs, private balconies, the best views of the parks, and more. One of our favorite parts about the room was the TV actually had “The Carr Family” on the screen when we turned it on which was pretty cool. We also loved how easy it was to unlock our room door with our fast pass bracelets. Super convenient! Plus we had 3 amazing pull out beds. The kids especially loved the painted artwork around their bed.
Where to eat.
The resort has a few places to chow down when you’re feeling hungry.
Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera: is a rooftop restaurant that has delicious dishes. Packed with French and Italian taste, it’s a must for amazing food and table service. They also offer Disney Character breakfast which my daughters loved. They were so excited for Mickey to come sit and chat with them. Oh and fun fact: Topolino is actually from the Italian name for Mickey Mouse.
Primo Piatto: Is a quick bit restaurant located by the Bar Riva which is an open-air pool bar for 21+. We didn’t spend much time at the bar. But we did dine at Primo Piatto and the food was extremely good.
Where to play.
Beside’s having Walt Disney World in your back yard the resort features an amazing place to splash and play with their pools. The pools are every kid and okay I’ll admit it adults dream. The Mediterranean inspired pools feature lounge chairs, tables, and large umbrellas. We visited the pools a few times. The Riviera pool because Ivy just had to test out the tower slide. I personally enjoyed relaxing under all the shaded areas around the Beau Soleil leisure pool. Being at the pools I felt super at ease with the girl’s complimentary life vest and lifeguards on duty. There is also an area called S’il Vous Play. This is an interactive play space for little ones. It’s safe because the water is not deep, it’s more like a playground/splash pad. This inspired by the public fountains in Europe it’s a great place for the kiddos.
Disney’s Riviera Resort & shopping &..
Aside from all of the wonderful stores at the nearby parks, the Riviera has La Boutique. La Boutique offers things such as snacks, apparel, souvenirs You know all the important stuff of course.
The resort also features a state of the art gym, laundry room plus an outdoor gaming area, and a beautiful lobby with iPad games.
So friends Disney’s Riviera Resort has so many wonderful things to offer. Rather you want to sleep or play, swim or meet Mickey and the gang this resort does not disappoint and my family and I can’t wait to go back.
Thank you so much to Disney Creators for having us! and happy 1-year anniversary to the Riviera and many more to come.
