Hi Friends. This year has been one wild year and now that the holidays are here it’s not only a wonderful time to say thank you to those in your life who helped you through 2020. But it’s also a wonderful time to show them how thankful you are with a personalized gift. Give the gift of DIY.
Now I own a few Cricut machines and I love them all. But full disclaimer I am no expert. I am still learning just like you all. So that’s why when I decided to create this tutorial I wanted it to be something everyone could follow along with. This tutorial is not only very simplistic but also super fun. I will be walking you through the steps of creating your very own cards for the special people in your life, saving a buck or two. Plus giving a gift from the heart that means more than any card money can buy. Let’s jump right into our tutorial, shall we?

The DIY holiday card Cricut Explore Air 2 tutorial.
So for this blog, I made the Woodland Wonderland holiday-themed card. Very simple and the template can be found on Cricut Design Space.
Step 1: Go to Cricut Design Space, projects, and click the drop-down menu. From the drop-down menu choose Christmas. Once in the Christmas column you can search for different card templates you like or you can use the one I used by typing in #M197AF6 in the box next to the drop-down menu that says search projects.
Step 2: Make sure your Explore Air 2 machine is set to the cardstock setting on the knob at the top. Then back on your Cricut Design Space click make-it at the bottom of the page. Put your 12×12 card stock on your mat and into your machine. Once the machine is done cutting you are able to peel your card off and weed out any access pieces. Be very careful this little card is tedious.
Step 3: You will be basically repeating the step 2 process. Put your second color 12×12 card stock on your mat and once again into your machine. Once done peel your card off.
Step 4: This step is cool and simple. Take your adhesive spray and spray one side of your white cardstock. Carefully lay it onto the inside of the card facing the design and gently press. Let the card dry for a few minutes and you’re all done!
Congrats my friend you have just created a holiday card all by yourself in just four easy steps with your Cricut Explore Air 2! If you’re interested in creating other simple yet festive cards similar to this one for beginners here are two project templet numbers that can be found in Design Space. (#M3DEF5 and #M39B2D). As you can tell the cardstock colors are different but the steps are the same.
You’ve made DIY holiday cards with the Cricut Explore Air 2.
Creating a DIY holiday card with the Cricut Explore Air 2 wasn’t so hard after all right? See how easy that was? Now the question is who will you create a special card for? Whoever you decide to send a card too just know that they will cherish it because you created it with love in your heart. Happy Holiday friends.
