Hi friends!
This week has been a rollercoaster! because unless you live under the sea like Ariel which I’m sure you don’t. Then by now, you have heard that Disney is planning to reopen its parks in July! Yes, that’s right the magic is returning to make the world a little bit better again. But just because Disney is reopening doesn’t mean it’s going to a walk in the park.. literally. Disney has implemented a bunch of safety features to keep everyone safe. So what do you need to know before you go?
1. Disney will be reopening with a reservation system:
Gone for now are the days where we could just walk into the parks when we felt like it. Well again at least for now. Each guest will now require to have a reservation before entering the parks. This includes everyone even annual pass holders. Disney has also stated that for the moment they are temporarily putting a pause on ticket sales, annual passports and renewals. Disney has not given to much information on this but from what I am hearing more details are coming soon.
2. No more parades:
Parades are one of the most amazing parts about Disney along with their nighttime spectaculars am I right? Unfortunately, since they are so amazing they bring in a huge crowd of people. So in order to comply with social distancing requirements by our government their won’t be any parades, night spectaculars, or select attractions. There will also be signage to help guest move around each other accordingly But I mean you can totally like pull out your phone and play some Disney tunes while dancing on Main Street so there’s always that option 🙂
3. No meet & greets:
Meeting the characters is always fun and its also another thing that brings in large groups. So for the moment Disney has decided no meet and greets. But fear not because characters will still be in the park! It’s not clear what they will be doing but Disney’s website has stated that “Characters will be in our parks in new ways to entertain and delight our Guests.”
4. Face mask will be required:
Disney has stated that they will actually be requiring mandatory face covering for everyone. This means for the guest and the cast members. There is actually a lot of adorable Disney face mask you can purchase online at Shop Disney. So besides the fact that you’re being safe, you can still be fashionable.
5. Temp checks:
Everyone who has a reservation entering Disney will be required to have their temperature taken. The screening will take place in Downtown Disney District or park. The cast members will also be required to have their temperature taken daily as well.
6. Clean up:
Disney also has announced there will be a bunch of enhanced and cleaning sanitation areas throughout the park. This means more places to keep everyone squeaky clean.
A few other things that are happening include the parks recommending cashless purchases, restaurants being restricted to a limited number of guests, and the hotels and spas not opening until July 23, 2020.
Now all of the above is of course is subjected to change as the reopening date of July 9, 2020, for downtown Disney, gets closer. While the parks are slated or reopen July 17, 2020. But one thing’s for sure Disney has always had their guest’s best interest at heart and are doing all they can to make sure to safely keep that magic alive.
