Remember a while ago when I first introduced you guys to our new MyFit Harness + Booster Car Seat? (Read about it here) well, today I am back with the review. Let me tell you all about it.
So here’s a little recap the MyFit Harness + Booster Car Seat was graciously sent to us in the color Gardenia by our friends over at Chicco. I expected a lot from this seat but I was looking for 3 main things safety, weight/height, extra features. Did I find what I was looking for? Let’s see.
So my husband was at work, I actually installed both car seats by myself with no problems. It was really fast and only took minutes. The car seat was designed with smart functionality. This means it makes it super easy to install both securely and accurately.
Once the car seats were installed it was time for the girls to take a test ride. We headed to the mall for the evening. The girls really seemed to love their new seats and how it felt sitting inside of them. They even loved having two cup holders which is something they didn’t have with their old seats.
The first thing I watched for was safety. MyFit Harness + Booster Car Seat was designed with safety in mind. The DuoGuard™ side impact protection comes with not one but two layers of protection for two zones. With a rigid shell and energy-absorbing foam, it protects little torsos and heads. So I did get what I was looking for happy to report no accidents but I loved knowing that the girls were safe back there. Even when we used the cars seats on a 4-hour drive to the beach. I felt comfortable with them inside of them. I also love the steel frame and premium latch attachments.
The second thing I was looking for was weight and height features. Both my girls are different weights and heights so it was important to make them as comfortable as possible, considering the fact we do a lot of driving. The car seat has two modes and below are the requirements right from their website on how to use them.
Usage in Harness Mode
For children at least 2 years old who weigh between 25 and 65 pounds, and height is 54 inches tall or less
Usage in Booster Mode
For children at least 4 years old who weigh between 40 and 100 pounds, and height is 38 to 57 inches
For Ivy and Aria, we used Harness mode. I love the padded No-Rethread Harness and the one pill harness tightener, which makes my life easier. We will save the 5-point harness booster mode for in the near future. Both girls felt comfortable enough to sit safe and still have room to move. I love that it does have two different modes which are very convenient.
Lastly, I was looking for features like headrest and reclining system. The MyFit Harness + Booster Car Seat had both. It’s equipped with 9 headrest positions so again little ones will have many options to choose from. Plus 4 reclining positions for maximum comfort. It even comes with RideRight®. These bubble levels indicators are located the side of the car seat that makes it simple to verify the angle in the vehicle seat. The seats also feature deep ErgoBoost with padding and contour. Making those tiny tushies comfy. I was very impressed with these features. But one of my all-time favorite features? I think every mom would appreciate this the removable cup holders! Yup, you read that right. With the push of a removable button, the cupholders come right out and you can throw them in the dishwasher. Pretty cool right? Speaking of cleaning the fabric also is easy to remove and can be cleaned with mild soap and water. Or in the machine with cold water and hung to dry.
