In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m sharing 5 simple ways you can protect your peace & pour back into you.

1. Start your mornings with God – Pray, read a verse, or sit in silence & invite Him into your day.

2. Say ā€œNOā€ without guilt – Protect your time, energy, and peace.

3. Get outside daily – Even a quick walk or sitting in the sun can shift your mood.

4. Talk to someone you trust—or write it down – If you don’t feel ready to open up to someone, grab a journal & let it out. Your feelings deserve space, either way. Me personally I talk to God.

5. Celebrate the small wins – You’re doing better than you think.

Showing up for yourself isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. Let’s normalize choosing rest, boundaries, & joy on purpose.

Hey dear, 2018.

December 31, 2018      Porsha Carr

Hi friends!

Today is December 31, 2018. I cannot believe we are on the last day of 2018. This year so many things have happened in my life. Things both professionally and personally. So many ups and so many downs. But throughout it all, I have learned so many amazing things, met so many amazing people, had so many amazing opportunities and so on. So instead of writing a long drawn out post about the year, I thought it would fun to reflect on this year with a hear dear post (see more hey dear, post here). So without further ado hey dear, 2018.

Hey dear, 2018

Ā January was a blur though I specifically rememberĀ a special little girl and her very special Minnie mouse birthday.
Hey dear, 2018
my nephew turned 9 I can’t believe he’s been gone for 9 years now but I know he’s in a better place.

Hey dear, 2018

Ivy and Aria had their very first joint birthday party and it was a super success. Though I was extremely tired and spent more money than I wanted.. to see the look on their face made it all worth it.

Hey dear, 2018

Ā I made a resolution to run 12 marathons this year. While I was short about 4 of them I enjoyed the time running alongside my best friend.

Hey dear, 2018

Ā speaking of my best friend fuck cancer! though she was diagnosed with this horrible thing. She is a fighter and I am going to continue to be there for her as she fights into the new year.

Hey dear 2018,
I went to my first rap concert and then I went to my second one. I gotta admit it was pretty wild..and I can’t wait to go to more and turn up! haha.
Hey dear, 2018,
my husband and I celebrated our very first wedding anniversary. Marriage is definitely no joke. It’s not easy and it takes a lot of work. Here’s to 1 year married and many more to come.

Hey, dear 2018,

Halloween was fun, I finally got my husband to agree to matching family hocus pocus costumes after 2 years of begging. It’s not just a bunch of Hocus Pocus after all.
Hey dear 2018,
I lost a very special person to my heart. My grandmother. After battling her sickness for so long she finally went home to be with God. Though I still tear up thinking about her I feel good knowing that shes no longer in pain. I love you, grandma.

Hey dear, 2018

Ā I can’t count the number of times I visited San Franciso this year. I love that little city. It’s truly a home away from home.

Hey dear 2018,

Ā I turned 29. Last year in my 20s every day I am learning to love Porsha more and realizing that I am my own best friend.
Hey dear 2018,
I gained a niece. Little miss Piaona Felix. You are one of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen you’re a blessing to my sister and a light to my soul. I love you.

Hey dear 2018,
I worked with so many companies this year. I pray that in 2019 I can double that.

This year has been one for the books, I am ready to start a new chapter, Hello 2019.
