Hi Guys!
Today’s blog post is very important, I’d like to share a story with you. However, before I do I’d like to just give a small disclaimer and let you guys know that this blog is about women and menstruation. With that said I will share the story.
Earlier this year my husband and I took our girls to a festival downtown. On the way home, we took a shortcut down a street known for the homeless. Driving down the street we saw
A woman, maybe about in her early 30’s. She was wearing nothing but a t-shirt and a towel, no pants or shoes. Running down this young women’s leg was blood. A towel is what she was using to try to cover up. Homeless and unable to afford feminine products. It was very disheartening, and hard to see. It’s something I will never forget. So when I was presented with the chance to speak up about this issue I took it.
By now I’m sure all women have heard of the popular feminine product U by Kotex. They create products for many women of all ages. U by Kotex understands that 1 in 4 women had or have struggled to be able to buy the feminine products they need. Due to their lack or income within the last year. That’s why U by Kotex is very happy to announce they are officially the sponsors of what is called The Alliance for Period Supplies. What is this?
Well, The Alliance for Period Supplies is a brand new organization that was just founded in May of this year. This organization helps women who are in need that doesn’t have or can’t afford feminine products for their every day lives. The Alliance for Period Supplies supports the development and expansion of community-based supplies. Raising awareness to the millions of women like the one I mentioned who is out there living in poverty. They currently also advocate for legislative changes to make these products more affordable and accessible. Because as women we take on a lot every single day.
So how can you help?
So how can you help?
Right now in during the whole month of October for every purchase of U by Kotex – U by Kotex will donate 2 products. On top of this Walmart will also be donating $25,000 themselves to The Alliance for Period Supplies!
How cool is that?
How cool is that?
I feel good knowing that with my purchase of U by Kotex will be helping a woman in need out there. Be sure to head to your local Walmart and purchase U by Kotex for your mother, wife, sister, niece, a friend in need and be a part of the movement.
You can find out more about the movement and purchase U by Kotex here.
(I received this product for review, but all opinions are my own.)
