My daughters had received gift cards for their birthday (read all about their party here) So they we’re pretty excited to go shopping. Toys R Us is one of my kids favorite stores ever! While they don’t really understand what is going on with the store closing, I made sure they enjoyed this last time at the toy store.
We went on day two of the sale, I was thinking it wasn’t going to be that crazy but man was I wrong. It looked and felt like black Friday! The entire parking lot was filled up with cars, kids, parents! We finally got in the store, but we couldn’t find a shopping cart until we walked through a few isles and Ivy spotted one.
We headed over to the board game section and picked up two kid friendly games for Ivy and Aria. Then we walked over to the clothing section where all the clothes we’re 20% off! Steal? I think so. I really couldn’t find anything in Ivy’s size, but I snagged three outfits for Aria including a really cute lady bug dress. Ugh! I totally cant wait until Spring.
After this I was hoping to pick up some diapers because Aria is still rocking them in between her pull ups. But no! unfortunately these weren’t on sale aw, sad face.
Then of course we went to the aisles the girls had been begging for the toy aisles. I let them run through every aisle and enjoy themselves picking up every baby doll and barbie they can find they played for a good hour. In the end I let them pick out a toy with their gift cards. Ivy choose a Shopkins play house and Aria choose a Bizzy Bub.
I did end up spending a bit more money than I wanted, but it was so worth it. All these years of being a Toys R Us kid I cant believe they are closing.
Thank you Toys R Us for all the childhood memories.. farewell.
Now when the girls are older then can say they actually went to toys r us!

Isn’t it crazy how so many things that made our childhood special won’t be in our own children’s lives? So nice that you it’s got to go and enjoy the sale !
